Mattel has forged a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to test Sora 2, the next-generation AI video generation model. Announced at OpenAI's Developer Day, the partnership leverages Sora 2's enhanced visuals, realistic motion, and new 'Cameo' avatar feature to transform Mattel's product development pipeline.

The toymaker will use Sora 2's API to convert designer sketches into dynamic video concepts, accelerating prototyping cycles. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman emphasized the technology's potential to 'bring product ideas to life more quickly,' with the first AI-powered toys expected by year-end.
